We are now able to see a light-not at the “end” of the tunnel, because our light goes on and on! We have thru seminars found new direction in our individual lives, our life as a couple and as a family. We are looking forward to our new found lives with our daughter when she comes home instead of dreading it. We give great thanks to Brent H, ’s therapist, Sheri A her family rep for keeping us informed, in touch and showing no matter where is, she is loved and carried for. I know it is no accident that he came to Cross Creek. You are truly angels and I admire the work that you do. If I hand picked a counselor and family representative it couldn’t have been better than the two of you. I know God put the two of you in my son’s life for a reason. In just four short months I have seen so much change in Christopher. It truly is miracle to me. I keep thinking, is this really happening? Is my nightmare coming to an end? We were experiencing with our son Nicholas. It seemed that no matter what we did, his anger and attitude toward life and us in general worsened. After trying to work wit the public school system and searching other alternatives, we came across Spring Creek Lodge! This happened somewhat by accident but that is not important. The important thing is that he is there and getting the kind of attention he needs. Nick is a long way from where he needs to be but we are comforted by the fact that he is safe and can grow while dealing with his problems. I could never thank you enough for how much it means to me that Alex is safe 24 hours a day. When I wake each morning, I think of her and where she is and I know I don’t need to worry how she is. Robert Dear Facility Staff - I really want you to know how much I have appreciated your help in guiding my son, Nolan, and our family back on the path to life. Although my son did not complete the program, your patience, encouragement and flexibility did help him to make the powerful decision to stay longer than he even believed he would. He was able to accomplish the goals he set for himself and we were able to receive him home with gratefulness for how far he moved forward into his full self. Thank you for your support of me, for being available to answer any question I had, for allowing me all the time I needed with you and the staff when I came to visit the facility and for being flexible with our situation. I am currently trying to get something of importance accomplished in the academic department and feel like I was “brushed off” when I tried to speak with the person about it. Not only are you our lifeline to our son, who we love and miss terribly every, single day, but you are the soothing influence over my husband and myself. Encouraging, guiding, healing, calming words… It’s been two and half months now and finally our son is beginning to appreciate your presence in his life. Your calming influence, your experience, and your assistance to him has been immeasurable. Family. And as you can see I didn’t say again because there was none, we were only settling and that is the difference. I also have a 12-year-old son. He is very bright but he is showing signs of issues and I will be sending him to your summer youth camp that helps young teens through a little of all the seminars you have combined. I can’t wait to see the change in him. I love both my kids very much and to my daughter, Whitney I would like to say I love you so much and I am so proud of you for trying so hard there. You don’t have it easy there and you are doing your best. You are my magical child and you dance in my heart. Thank you everyone for taking care of all of us! I need to explain what has happened to me personally because of what you all have given to me. One: I love Kyle with my whole heart but now I know what a beautiful, magical child he is. He is a gift to me. Two: SCL has taught me that. The staff is tireless with their resolve to make Kyle see his potential as a great and wonderful man. Three: Before SCL, I felt hopeless in the actions and results in my relationships with Kyle and with everyone. Today I’m learning that I have the power to stop, look, listen, vote, and step left. I am discovering my greatness. Four: Kyle has a hard time following rules. He learned that from me. I have always hated rules. The staff at SCL taught me that to follow rules, I actually got more power. My self-esteem is through the roof. I see if I follow rules, I get more of what life offers. Kyle, heed the rules. Finally, I want to thank the staff for believing in me, in standing firm, in loving me when I felt unlovable. You are truly great people, gifts every one of you. I feel like the child and you are the collective parents who insist I work hard, encourage me to move forward, who won’t let me fall and who love me unconditionally.
